Here’s where you'll find some of the common questions we get about the ES500.

Can I run both coil and rotary machines?

The ES500 will run either a coil or rotary machine right out of the box without you having to change any menu settings – just plug in the machine you want to use and start working.

Coil machines are hard on power supplies due to the feedback and noise they generate. The ES500 is designed to manage this noise, so it will last longer than other power supplies.

How do the cables route? Out of the back like an EMS420 or out of the front like older models?

The ES500 is equipped with an adjustable 360 degree display. This allows the artist to choose which way their cords are on their workstation and can rotate the screen to ensure its easy to read at any angle.

My traditional footswitch isn't working. Help!

Often if your traditional footswitch isn't working, it's because your ES500 is in Dual Machine Mode. A quick way to check this, is to look to see if the C1 or C2 icons are illuminated or displaying on the screen. If either of these two are true, it means Dual Machine Mode is engaged and a traditional footswitch will not run.

Can I run two machines at one time, tag team style?

Although the dual machine ports allow you to plug in and power two machines, only one machine can be run at a time.

What's the best way to barrier my ES500?

The ES500 can be protected using either barrier film, a machine bag (5"x4"), or bottle bag of your choice.

Tip: if you're using the ES500 on a non-metallic flat surface, try using barrier film instead of bags. This will keep the sticky foot in contact with the surface to provide grip.

How do I barrier my Eikon Bluetooth (Foot)Switch™?

The Bluetooth (Foot)Switch™ can be barriered several ways. Some artists tuck it under their glove, or simply drop it in a machine bag.

For added grip and protection, you can bag the (Foot)Switch, then wrap it in sensiwrap. This will not affect the Bluetooth connectivity and it remains easy to click. Please note the magnetism of the base could be affected depending on the amount of sensiwrap used.

Can I connect any other Bluetooth devices to my ES500?

The sole purpose of the Bluetooth function on the ES500 is to provide you with a wireless foot switch option. It will not connect to any other Bluetooth Devices.

Is the ES500 a metered supply? Can I see machine readings for coils or rotaries?

ES series power supplies do not have a meter. The "ES" stands for “Eikon Supply”, while our EMS series power supplies are all metered (EMS = Eikon Metered Supply).

How often will I have to change the battery in my Bluetooth (Foot)Switch?

The Eikon Bluetooth (Foot)Switch's CR2032 lithium battery has a 2-year lifespan and can be easily swapped out when required.
