Eikon Insider | July 2025

Say hello to our little friend… Hand-poured in house using 100% Canadian recycled materials, POWDER by Eikon is the newest member of the Eikon Essentials family of products.
As is our goal with all Eikon Essentials, POWDER by Eikon is a high-quality product designed to make your life easier, and at the same time save you some money. Available in 3 sizes; an 8oz artist-sized bottle, the 16oz shop size and the 64oz refill bottle, you can decide how much you need and how much you want to spend.

Artist Size (8oz) : This is the same size offered by most brands, but you’ll notice one big difference - the price. Coming in at just under $9 or $1.12/oz, the 8oz version of POWDER is over 50% less expensive than the other brands we stock, and many we don't.
Enough to Solidify: 115 Rinse Cups
Shop Size (16oz): This bottle will work great on shared stations. It holds double the amount of the 8oz bottle, and at $1.00/per oz it's nearly 40% less per oz than our 8oz bottle.
Enough to Solidify: 228 Rinse Cups
Refill Bottle (64oz): Ok, this one won’t fit on your station, but it will hold 8 times more than the standard shop bottle, which works out to getting 8 x 8oz bottles for the price of 4. Perfect for larger shops, you can hide this one away in your stock room and use it to refill the 8oz bottle, or any bottle you choose to use.
Enough to solidify 914 rinse cups.
A little goes a long way: Whether your approach to using POWDER (aka liquid solidifiers) is precise like a classically trained chef or a bit more chaotic like the Swedish Chef, just remember - a little really does go a long way. You can use as little as 2 grams (or a teaspoon) in your rinse cups and they’ll firm up, and be ready for disposal, in about 20 seconds. Hell, your Cavicide won't even be dry yet! But, if you feel the need for speed, adding more will ramp up POWDER's liquid solidifying power.

Insider Tip: When using a liquid solidifier in your pigment caps, you're going to have to go full Swedish Chef, tattoo inks are denser than water and will take more solidifier to firm them up. In these cases many artists just give each cap a shot, creating a solid barrier on top of the cap to prevent spills, but not fully solidifying the ink.
Mini tip… Dust the bottom of your shop’s garbage cans with a shot or two so the next time clients, co-workers and those weird new apprentices dump half a coffee in the garbage, you won’t end up with a surprise mess if it leaks.
Stay tuned for a side-by-side comparison video aka the great Rinse Cup Race coming soon.
