The Saskatoon Tattoo Expo Was Such a Blast...
Over 300 tattoo artists were in attendance, coming from all over the country and few from afar - and there were long lineups of eager tattoo collectors at the door all weekend. This three-day (5 for the Eikon crew) event provided an excellent opportunity for everybody to meet, network, showcase work and exchange knowledge. With a wide range of artists, styles, and techniques, this show provided a unique platform for tattoo enthusiasts and collectors to appreciate and explore the art of tattooing… and there was A LOT of tattooing happening. You could hear the machines buzzing early. People were ready for this one, as were we.
What a love for tattooing we experienced! One of the highlights of the Saskatoon Convention were the amazing trophies awarded for the Tattoo Of The Day. This year, the trophies were designed as glass tattoo-themed pieces, which added a touch of elegance to the event. The winners of the various categories were so excited to receive such unique and creative awards.
Speaking of creativity @anastasia_powell designed this year’s t-shirt. She’s been killing for a while and it was great to see her. Overall it felt like the 2023 Saskatoon convention was a huge success, because of the line up, because of the untamed love for tattooing AND the great vibe all weekend. Seeing our MTL friends @azlmtl and @maxmonsta for the 1st time in, well… 3 years was sweet as they’re road warriors like many of us! We also met up with @mcmillantattoo and @splinter_777 who came back after a few years away from the convention circuit. Jason was the first buzzing sound that started it all!!
We had time to interview @2hane4ord, @govtattoo, @korbiland, @dejanfurlan and @thelittlestdirtbag. The convention rolled so smoothly that we actually had time to talk and share precious info with you. That was just great, haha!
Once again the love for tattooing was evident and it showed. Thanks again to Steve and his team for bringing together such an impressive artist line up with an actual line up to get tattooed to match, hahaha! Also thanks to all of the artists for letting our camera guy Nik into your spaces over the weekend. We got some great footage, and you’ll be seeing him tagging along with us at future shows.
