Tattoo artist Max Rodriguez has created a collection of extremely rare and exotic hues which includes: Cahuita, Cas, Chirripo, Pinchi, Cadejo, Tico Red, Jocote, Heridia, Jaguar, Guaria, Maracuya, Papaya

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Cahuita

Cahuita is the name of a beach in Costa Rica in the Caribbean. It is visited worldwide due to the colour of its crystalline waters which have an unmatched greenish turquoise characteristic.

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Chirripo

Chirripo is the highest mountain in Costa Rica. From a distance it looks impressive at sunset, with its particular gray-green tone due to the sunset and the green of the forest.

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Cadejo

Cadejo is based on the urban legend of the cadejo. It tells that it manifests itself among the nocturnal mists. Max remembers imagining this scene in his head in an atmospheric bluish-grey tone.

Jocote is one of the most exotic fruits in Latin America with its deep green hue during its early stages of maturity. This pigment, with its acid and deep hue makes this one of the most interesting colours in the series.

The colour Jaguar was created in honour of the name of the largest feline in America.  The jaguar is considered a god in many cultures.

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Maracuya

Max has always been struck by the yellow-orange hue that he’s only been able to perceive in Maracuya (passion fruit). When he thinks of Latin America, he thinks of passion fruit, there was no way it wasn't going to be included in his set.

Cas is a colour inspired by Max’s favourite fruit from childhood. With this colour Max wanted to represent the acidity and tone of one of the most exotic fruits he has ever seen in his life.

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Pinchi

Pinchi was created in honour of Max’s beloved daughter's nickname and the colour she chose; a calm and unique atmospheric blue-violet mix.

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Tico Red

Max explains: “Costa Ricans are known worldwide as Ticos and red is our colour. unmissable because of our unique pronunciation of the "R", it is a strong and intense red like our homeland.”

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Heredia

Heredia is one of the seven provinces of Costa Rica. It is known as the city of flowers for its beautiful orange flowers that adorn the landscape. This is the landscape where Max Rodriguez grew up.

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Guaria

Guaria is named for the Purple Guaria which is the national flower of Costa Rica. Its vibrant violet hue captivates the eyes of all who see it.

Solid Ink Max Rodriguez Papaya

Papaya has the characteristic colour of the unmistakable papaya that immediately brings to mind the tropics.

Who the F@$K Is...

Max Rodriguez

Tattoo artist Max Rodrigues is originally from Costa Rica. He was attracted to the art of tattooing at a very young age. While studying at the University of Costa Rica, which has a School of Plastic Arts, he developed an all-consuming passion for the world of ink on the skin.

Close to 20 years old, Max was already a tattoo artist in training and with the passage of time he’s taken an inclination to work with a lot of colour. His aim has been to improve it and give it a style that little by little is becoming recognized in his country, and is beginning to attract international attention.

This led Max to create a seminar, with which he has taken his knowledge and experience to several Latin American countries, leaving in each one their way of applying and solving the details that each artist seeks to improve their work.

His perseverance and search to improve every day have led him to meet great world-class artists. This has opened the doors for him to work as a guest in some renowned tattoo studios.

Now as part of Miami Ink, Max continues to seek to grow as an artist and to also exhibit his work in a different way, without neglecting his roots and his Studio 93 in Costa Rica. His goals have no limits or defined time. His career is evolving every day, with the sole purpose of continuing to grow, improve and share his knowledge as a legacy for new artists.
